What does Jimmy Kimmel have to do with nurses?

As I scrolled through Twitter this morning, I was tempted to click on one of the multiple retweets of Jimmy Kimmel’s video that rapidly blew up all over screens everywhere.

In it he vividly described the birth of his son and the dramatic string of events that eventually led to the baby’s diagnosis and first major cardiac surgery. (You can learn more about heart murmurs here and  here).

“A very attentive nurse was checking him out… and heard a murmur,” he says holding his hand to his heart.

Right on, Jimmy. A good nurse will pick up the normal abnormality from the looming disaster in a heartbeat.
